Trauma can continue to affect you long after an experience has passed.
You might notice intrusive memories, feeling on edge, avoiding certain situations, or a sense of disconnection from yourself or others. Sometimes it’s not fully clear why things feel the way they do—only that something doesn’t feel settled.
At Every Season Counseling, we offer a safe, supportive space where you can begin to process these experiences at your own pace. Our work focuses on helping you feel more grounded, develop effective coping strategies, and gradually rebuild a sense of safety and stability.
When it feels appropriate, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) may be incorporated as part of the process. EMDR is a structured, evidence-based approach that helps the brain reprocess distressing experiences so they feel less overwhelming over time.
Sessions are offered online across Michigan, allowing you to engage in trauma work from a space that feels comfortable and familiar.
Trauma work is approached carefully and collaboratively. You won’t be pushed into material before you feel ready.
Our work together may include:
building a foundation of safety and stability
learning skills to manage overwhelming emotions
increasing your sense of control and grounding
gradually processing difficult or unresolved experiences
incorporating EMDR when appropriate as part of the healing process
As this work unfolds, many people begin to feel more settled, more in control of their responses, and better able to move forward with a greater sense of ease.
